Silom

Silom Soi 4 is a short alley, but it is lined with numerous bars on both sides. The spaces inside the bars are usually small, with most of the tables and chairs set up at the storefronts. The narrow alley becomes even more crowded at night.

If you’re looking for a short break and a cold beer, this is a great spot. In Bangkok’s hot summer, sitting under a fan and enjoying a beer is definitely a pleasant experience.

If you’re interested in drag shows or dance performances, there are a few highly recommended places here, such as The Stranger Bar and Silver Sand Silom.

Dance performances typically feature exaggerated dance moves to popular music, combined with improvised acts to match the rhythm. Tickets for these kinds of venues are usually around $12 USD.

For bars without performances, you can usually get a beer for as little as $3 USD, making it quite affordable.

Boy Show

The performances usually start at 10 PM, and the size of the venues varies between establishments. Seats are generally arranged as booth-style seating around the stage for better viewing.

Currently, the entrance fee for Boy Shows in Bangkok starts at a minimum of 400 THB, with some venues charging around 500 THB.

The first round of male dance performances typically begins at around 10:30 PM and lasts for about an hour, followed by a one-hour break. The second performance usually starts around 11:30 PM. Each venue offers a unique program lineup.

There are many guys in the venue, and if you'd like to have a drink with one of them, you can invite them by paying for an additional drink.

As for tips, we suggest deciding based on your personal experience. The most important thing is to have fun.

Gay Massage

Behind the bars, there is a street primarily lined with massage shops, offering plenty of options to choose from.

The massage therapists in these shops are usually male, and each shop has its own dedicated in-house therapists providing professional services.

The most popular services include foot massage, Thai massage, and oil massage. If you’re not afraid of a bit of pain or ticklishness, we recommend trying a Thai massage, which can deeply relax your body. For a more private experience, an oil massage is a great choice. And if you’ve spent the day walking and feel tired, we suggest going for a foot massage to recover quickly.

Regarding tips: the minimum is generally 100 THB, but the exact amount depends on your level of satisfaction. If the therapist provides excellent service, it’s recommended to give a bit more.

Street stalls

Street stalls are everywhere in Thailand, usually found in night markets or along sidewalks on both sides of the streets at night, filled with a vibrant local atmosphere.

The stalls offer a wide variety of goods, ranging from delicious snacks to daily necessities, from pants and shirts to underwear, making them comparable to mini department stores.

The street stalls on Silom are mostly tailored to the preferences and needs of the gay community, offering items such as clothing, accessories, trinkets, and even Rush.

The joy of gay travel in Bangkok lies in experiencing and immersing yourself in the local queer culture. Within Thailand’s diverse cultural background, gay culture stands out as a unique and fascinating aspect.
